New Braunfels Texas, founded in 1845, is a blend of German Heritage and small town Texas. With the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers running through the town, visitors and the local folk alike enjoy partaking in the cool, clean waters for a variety of recreational activities. New Braunfels is 30 miles NE of downtown San Antonio and 45 miles SW of Austin.  The city is situated where the Texas Hill Country meets rolling prairie land.
